Vitamin D Test / Infusion Therapy

Have you ever heard of orthomolecular medicine? This field aims to maintain general health and treat illnesses using substances naturally occurring in the body, thereby restoring the natural balance of metabolic processes. Typically, our requirements for vitamins, trace elements, and minerals are met through a balanced diet. For some patients, an appropriate intake of dietary supplements or infusion therapy can be an option to positively influence the healing process and restore or maintain long-term general health. In conjunction with nutritional medicine, orthomolecular medicine represents one of the most important preventive disciplines (in terms of disease prevention).

The benefits of Vitamin D:

  • Promotes implant integration and increases bone density
  • Supports general wound healing
  • Improves success rates for root canal treatments
  • Reduces tooth sensitivity
  • Lowers susceptibility to cavities by improving calcium and phosphate absorption
  • Intake during pregnancy and breastfeeding ensures optimal development of the child's teeth
  • Supports the formation of tooth enamel during development (prevents chalky teeth)

Why Vitamin D is so important

Vitamin D is the only vitamin that does not have to be ingested through food, but is produced by the body itself with the help of the sun's UVB rays. It plays a central role in a functioning bone metabolism and promotes the absorption of calcium. With a standardized rapid test, your vitamin D level can be determined quickly and reliably from just a single drop of blood. The results are available within 15 minutes right here in the practice. For further tests to determine your vitamin or mineral balance, we send samples to our specialized partner laboratory after drawing blood in our practice.

Deficiency is inevitable in winter

From October to March, however, sunlight in this region is often insufficient to produce enough vitamin D. There are also other causes for a vitamin D deficiency. Ultimately, a chronic vitamin D deficiency can promote or worsen numerous diseases – including periodontitis, gum inflammation, diabetes, infectious diseases, cardiovascular diseases, osteoporosis, or even cancer.

Infusion Therapy

If a vitamin D deficiency (or another vitamin deficiency) is detected, we can administer a supportive vitamin infusion before and after surgical treatment or create a personalized dietary supplement plan tailored to your needs. This involves supplying the body with high-dose vitamins, antioxidants, and/or minerals. The benefits: the immune system and defenses are strengthened (immune boost), wound healing is promoted, and, not least, general well-being is increased.
